Jesse Taber Sentenced to 27 Months in Prison for Unlawful Possession of a Shotgun
ALBANY, NEW YORK – In a recent federal court ruling, Jesse Taber, a 46-year-old resident of Rotterdam, New York, was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for unlawfully possessing a shotgun.
According to the United States Attorney’s office, Taber’s sentence stems from his prior guilty plea, which acknowledged that on December 26, 2023, he possessed a 12-gauge Stoeger Coach Gun shotgun within his Rotterdam residence.
Taber further admitted to having three prior felony convictions in New York, which render him ineligible to lawfully possess any firearms.
United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino also imposed a three-year term of supervised release, which will begin after Taber’s release from prison.
The investigation into Taber’s case was led by the ATF, with assistance from the Rotterdam Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Belliss prosecuted the case.
