Tampa Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Methamphetamine Distribution

A Bradenton man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine in the Tampa area.

U.S. District Judge Mary S. Scriven handed down the sentence to Jimmy Altidor, 42, on January 16, 2025. Altidor pleaded guilty to the charges in the same month.

According to court documents, in early March 2023, Altidor spoke with a confidential source about the price of methamphetamine and offered to sell the source a pound. A few days later, the source had numerous calls with Altidor to coordinate a deal.

On March 8, 2023, the source traveled to Altidor’s place of work in Bradenton, where Altidor sold the source a pound of methamphetamine. This case is a prime example of the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine distribution in the Tampa area.

Altidor has a prior federal conviction for possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, which has significantly impacted his sentence.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the Bradenton Police Department, and the Sarasota Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael R. Kenneth.

Altidor’s sentence is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in the Tampa area, and it serves as a warning to those who would engage in similar activities.
