Jonathan P. Graziano, Child Pornography Possession, Rhode Island 2024

PROVIDENCE, RI – Jonathan P. Graziano, 41, of Johnston, Rhode Island, is facing federal charges after allegedly downloading and possessing hundreds of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. The indictment, handed down by a federal grand jury, marks a disturbing new chapter for a man already convicted of heinous crimes against minors.

Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom announced the charges today, detailing how Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force uncovered the alleged activity. The investigation began with a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning a user distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) via a messaging application. The digital trail led investigators to an IP address linked to a residence shared by Graziano in Johnston.

According to court documents, a subsequent court-authorized search of the residence and Graziano’s personal electronic devices yielded a sickening trove of CSAM. Investigators reportedly discovered “hundreds” of images and videos, confirming the suspicion that Graziano was not only accessing but potentially distributing this horrific content. This isn’t Graziano’s first brush with the law; he was previously convicted and sentenced in 2006 for felony assaults involving the molestation of two minors – a chilling pattern of predatory behavior.

Graziano is currently being held in federal custody, having been initially arrested on a criminal complaint filed June 18, 2025. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment July 25, 2025. The charges against him center on possession of child pornography, a serious federal offense carrying potentially lengthy prison sentences. As with all criminal cases, Graziano is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Assistant United States Attorney G. Michael Seaman is prosecuting the case, highlighting the government’s commitment to aggressively pursuing those who exploit and endanger children. The investigation was a joint effort between HSI and the Rhode Island State Police ICAC Task Force, demonstrating the importance of interagency collaboration in combating online child exploitation.

This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative spearheaded by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section. The project aims to dismantle networks of child predators, rescue victims, and bring perpetrators to justice. More information on Project Safe Childhood can be found at https://www.justice.gov/psc.
