A Charleston man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for selling heroin in the Charleston area. Jon Paul Clements, 33, of Charleston, West Virginia, received the sentence on October 24, 2014, for his role in distributing heroin to a confidential informant working with law enforcement in July and August 2014.
Clements pleaded guilty in October 2014 to four counts of distributing heroin in the Charleston area. His guilty plea hearing revealed that he repeatedly sold heroin to a confidential informant at various times and locations in July and August 2014.
The Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team investigated the case, which led to Clements’ arrest and subsequent conviction. Assistant United States Attorney Monica D. Coleman was in charge of the prosecution.
At his guilty plea hearing, Clements admitted to repeatedly selling heroin to a confidential informant, providing law enforcement with valuable information to crack down on heroin trafficking in the area.
