Jonathan Ray Gonsalez, Sexual Abuse, Montana 2023

Sex Crimes on the Rise: Jonathan Ray Gonsalez, a 40-year-old man from Box Elder, Montana, was sentenced to six years and 10 months in prison for sexually abusing a teenage girl he lured to his isolated home on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.

Gonsalez initiated contact with the 16-year-old victim, identified as Jane Doe, through Facebook Messenger on January 3, 2023. He ultimately lured her to his residence, where he sexually abused her after she fell asleep waiting for a ride home.

According to court documents, Jane Doe got scared and wanted to leave, but the temperature was below freezing. She asked Gonsalez to have someone pick her up, but instead, she fell asleep while waiting for the ride.

When Jane Doe awoke, she was in Gonsalez’s bedroom, and he was sexually abusing her. After the abuse, she left the residence and called 911 for help. A Rocky Boy’s Police Department officer found Jane Doe and picked her up on the road near Gonsalez’s residence.

The FBI and Rocky Boy’s Police Department conducted the investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Amanda L. Myers and Kalah A. Paisley prosecuting the case.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided over the case. Gonsalez pleaded guilty in January to the sexual abuse.
