Florida Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison for Attempting to Entice Minors
ORLANDO, Florida – A local man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempting to persuade, induce, and entice two minors to engage in illicit sexual conduct, according to federal authorities.
Judges Roy B. Dalton Jr. handed down the sentence to Jonathan S. Bergeron, 30, of Orlando, after he pleaded guilty on October 13, 2014, to attempting to entice minors to engage in sexual activity.
According to court documents, Bergeron contacted an undercover FBI agent in July 2014, posing as the father of two minors. Over several days, Bergeron solicited sex with the children and expressed his desire to network with like-minded individuals and engage in illicit sexual conduct with minors.
On July 10, 2014, Bergeron traveled to Lake Mary, where he intended to meet with the minors, but was subsequently arrested.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ilianys Rivera Miranda.
