MONROE, ALABAMA – A federal court in Montgomery dropped a重磅 eight-count indictment on Thursday against Kimani Jones, 30, Treymane Lambert, 48, and Aleecia Scott, 27, all of Montgomery, for sex trafficking and related offenses. The grim charges reveal a web of exploitation that spanned years.
The trio is accused of forcing adult women to participate in commercial sex acts between August 2016 and November 2020. Jones’ allegations intensify with claims that he coerced two minors into the same activities over the same time frame. Joseph Keon Bowe, 37, from Notasulga, joins the ranks, charged with compelling a minor into sex work from August 2018 to March 2019.
According to the indictment, Jones transported one minor and an adult woman across state lines for prostitution in November 2016 and January 2020. Daryle Gardner, 30, of Prattville, is charged with transporting a woman for the same purpose in January 2020.
An assistant attorney general from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama, and an acting Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agent led the announcement. The investigation was a collaborative effort between HSI, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Montgomery law enforcement, and the Alabama Attorney General’s Office.
Prosecutors are Kate Alexander from the Civil Rights Division’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit and Tara Ratz from the Middle District of Alabama. The National Human Trafficking Hotline stands ready to receive information at 1-888-373-7888, a 24/7 service.
Conviction could lead to substantial prison terms and mandatory restitution. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge, considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
