Juawan Davis, Prison Contraband Possession, Pennsylvania 2024

SCRANTON – Federal law enforcement has once again clamped down on prison corruption, charging Juawan Davis with a brazen attack on the walls of Schuylkill Federal Correctional Facility. The 31-year-old Baltimore native is now staring down charges for possession of a weapon and illegal drugs while behind bars.

Davis, who was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 12, 2025, allegedly wielded a sharpened plexi-glass weapon, along with THC and Buprenorphine, inside the facility. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has wasted no time in pursuing justice.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus revealed that Davis’ alleged November 14, 2024, offense was uncovered thanks to the relentless efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). Assistant United States Attorney Sarah R. Lloyd is leading the prosecution against the incarcerated offender.

The potential sentence for this grave violation is severe, with the maximum penalty under federal law being five years behind bars, followed by a term of supervised release and a fine to be determined by the presiding judge.

It’s important to note that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Indictments and Criminal Informations are merely allegations at this stage of the proceedings.
