Kacie Deyo, Bribes, Oklahoma 2022

Kacie Deyo, a 30-year-old former Correctional Officer from Yukon, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to accepting bribes while working at a federal prison in El Reno, Oklahoma. According to a recent investigation, Deyo accepted thousands of dollars in exchange for smuggling contraband into the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in El Reno between March 3, 2021, and May 7, 2021.

As a Correctional Officer at the FCI, Deyo’s job duties included guarding federal inmates and enforcing regulations. However, instead of upholding the law, Deyo allegedly compromised her position and smuggled contraband into the prison. This reckless behavior put the safety of both inmates and prison staff at risk.

The case against Deyo is a result of an investigation by the Office of the Inspector General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Oklahoma City Field Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bow Bottomly is leading the prosecution of Deyo’s case.

On September 28, 2022, Deyo was charged with one count of accepting a bribe by a public official. The charges against her reflect her employment by the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Correctional Officer at the FCI in El Reno from November 2016 through January 31, 2022.

At sentencing, Deyo faces up to 15 years in federal prison, followed by up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Deyo is expected to be sentenced in approximately 90 days.

The guilty plea by Kacie Deyo serves as a reminder of the severity of corruption within law enforcement agencies. The public expects correctional officers to uphold the law and maintain the integrity of our prison system. Deyo’s actions are a betrayal of that trust and will have consequences.

The investigation and prosecution of Deyo’s case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to holding public officials accountable for their actions. This is a crucial step in maintaining public trust in our institutions and upholding the rule of law.
