Beloit Man Sentenced to 8 ½ Years for Cocaine Trafficking
MADISON, WIS. – In a harsh blow to the streets of Beloit, Kelvin Haley, Jr., 41, was sentenced to 8 ½ years in federal prison for orchestrating a cocaine trafficking ring in the area from July 2021 to August 2023.
According to sources, during a federal investigation, multiple witnesses identified Haley as the individual selling large quantities of cocaine in the Beloit area. Law enforcement discovered that Haley used multiple homes in the area to store and sell cocaine, and conducted recorded purchases of cocaine from Haley at some of these homes on multiple occasions between November 2022 and March 2023.
Despite having legitimate employment options, Haley returned to his old ways, and now faces the consequences. In a scathing statement, Judge William M. Conley expressed his disappointment in Haley’s actions, stating that 8 ½ years was warranted given the nature of the offense and repeat conduct.
The charge against Haley was the result of an investigation conducted by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Beloit Police Department, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Anderson prosecuted this case.
Haley’s sentence includes 8 ½ years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty to the charge on March 25, 2024.
This case is a stark reminder of the dangers of repeat offenders and the consequences of their actions. In a statement, U.S. Attorney Timothy M. O’Shea stated that the sentence sends a clear message that the community will not tolerate such behavior.
The investigation and prosecution of this case are a testament to the dedication and hard work of law enforcement agencies and prosecutors in the Western District of Wisconsin. The community is safer with Haley behind bars, and we will continue to work tirelessly to keep our streets safe.
