Boston Man Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for Cocaine Trafficking

BOSTON – Kenji Drayton, 42, of Boston, Massachusetts, was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 4 years of supervised release for his role in a cocaine trafficking conspiracy.

Drayton, a main supplier and drug distributor of two Boston-area drug trafficking organizations (DTOs), pleaded guilty on April 12, 2022, to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

As part of Operation Snowfall, Drayton was charged with 23 others in June 2020. The investigation targeted a DTO comprised of Boston-based street gang members and associates in the Commonwealth Development in Brighton, formerly known as Fidelis Way.

According to the charging documents, the DTO stored, cooked, packaged, and sold drugs, including cocaine and cocaine base, from multiple apartments in the Fidelis Way complex. The DTO’s destructive activity blighted the complex and reduced the quality of life for law-abiding residents.

Drayton served as one of the main drug suppliers and distributors within each of the identified DTOs, purchasing, selling, and distributing wholesale quantities of cocaine. He is estimated to have distributed over 3.5 kilograms of cocaine.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles high-level criminal organizations using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.
