Kevin Alan Lewis, Child Pornography, Kentucky 2015

Kevin Alan Lewis, a civilian formerly residing on Ft. Campbell, Kentucky military base, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by a life sentence of supervised release, for the production of child pornography, announced United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr.

The sentencing occurred in U.S. District Court on November 19, 2015, before Senior Judge Thomas B. Russell.

Lewis was found guilty of producing the sexually-explicit image of a minor, a crime that is a priority for the U.S. Attorney’s office, according to a statement from Kuhn.

The 25-year sentence is a just outcome, as there is no parole in the federal system, Kuhn noted.

According to the plea agreement filed July 21, 2015, Lewis admitted that on or about March 10, 2014, he persuaded and used an 11-year old male to photograph his genitals, and then transmit that image to Lewis through the Internet, a facility of interstate commerce, with an electronic device.

In addition, the photographic image was produced using materials that had been mailed, shipped, or transported in interstate or foreign commerce. The persuasion and use of the minor to produce the explicit image occurred on the Fort Campbell, Kentucky military base.

Lewis was also a registered sex offender in Christian County, Kentucky, based on a 2003 conviction for Child Molestation in Georgia.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys David Sparks and Marisa Ford, and was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the United States Army Campbell Criminal Investigation Detachment (CID) at Fort Campbell.
