Orlando, FL – In a shocking turn of events, former Kissimmee Police Officer Dariel Javier Quiles-Davila (27) has been found guilty by a federal jury for receiving child sexual abuse material. The verdict comes after an intense investigation and trial that revealed Quiles-Davila’s despicable actions.
Quiles-Davila, once a trusted officer with the Kissimmee Police Department, came into contact with a child victim during his duties in October 2023. He not only communicated with the child via his personal cellphone and social media but also sent money to the minor and solicited sexually explicit photographs and videos.
The case was jointly investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kissimmee Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Michael Sartoian is handling the prosecution.
This conviction comes as part of Project Safe Childhood, a justice department initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project has been in place since 2006 and focuses on identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting those who exploit children online.
Quiles-Davila now faces a minimum of five years up to twenty years in federal prison when he is sentenced on December 16, 2025. His downfall serves as a stark reminder of the potential for corruption within law enforcement ranks.
