Cedar Rapids Woman Sentenced to Over 11 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Conspiracy

In a harsh verdict, a 66-year-old woman from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was sentenced to over 11 years in federal prison for her role in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

Kris Marie Hagan, a resident of Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty on January 3, 2025, to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

According to a plea agreement and a sentencing hearing, Hagan distributed methamphetamine from her residences in Marion and Cedar Rapids between 2019 and November 17, 2023. During this time, she distributed over 150 pounds of the controlled substance.

Hagan was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams in Cedar Rapids to 134 months’ imprisonment. She must also serve a five-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

Hagan is currently being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until she can be transported to a federal prison.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Jared Manternach and Assistant United States Attorney Dillan Edwards, with the investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force consisting of the DEA; the Linn County Sheriff’s Office; the Cedar Rapids Police Department; the Marion Police Department; and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
