Grimy Times has learned that a Gloucester man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Kyle Jacob Buquor, 26, was detained on July 15, 2024, when a K9 unit positively alerted for narcotics in his pickup truck, which was parked near a store on Market Drive.
During a search of the vehicle, agents recovered a handgun, three loaded magazines, an empty magazine, 11.5 grams of methamphetamine, and various items indicative of drug trafficking.
Buquor was subsequently charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
U.S. District Judge Roderick C. Young sentenced Buquor to 5 years in prison following the guilty plea.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Devon Heath prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities across the nation.
