Ting Hong Yeung, Mail Fraud, Pennsylvania 2024

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – In a grim turn of events, Ting Hong Yeung, 43, a resident of Hacienda Heights, California, has been slammed with a nine-month prison sentence for his role in a massive mail fraud scheme that targeted ground package shipments.

Yeung, who pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak on August 14, 2025. The defendant’s fraudulent activities, which spanned from August 2018 to June 2020, involved submitting or causing the submission of over 6,000 false claims for lost or damaged ground package shipments that were never actually affected.

According to court documents, Yeung used various corporate entities to orchestrate this elaborate fraud. His scheme resulted in the receipt of substantial settlement payments related to these non-existent claims. The impact on the victimized ground package delivery company was profound, with Judge Hornak emphasizing the severity of Yeung’s offense during the sentencing hearing.

Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced the sentence, commending the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their diligent work in unraveling and successfully prosecuting this complex case. Assistant United States Attorney Nicole A. Stockey was the government’s lead prosecutor in this matter.

Yeung will serve his prison term followed by three years of federal supervised release upon his release. This harsh sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who engage in large-scale fraud against American consumers and businesses.

The case is an important victory for law enforcement in the ongoing battle against financial crimes. Yeung’s conviction and sentencing underscore the government’s commitment to protecting citizens from such fraudulent activities.
