PHILADELPHIA, PA – Dwain London Jr., 37, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is facing a potential lifetime in federal prison after being indicted on serious drug and firearms charges. The indictment, unsealed today, alleges London was running a significant operation dealing crack and cocaine in the Lancaster area.
According to the indictment, London knowingly and intentionally possessed more than 28 grams of crack cocaine and an unspecified amount of cocaine with the clear intent to distribute it. The alleged activity took place around May 14, 2025. Federal prosecutors are building a case that London wasn’t just holding these drugs for personal use – he was actively pushing them onto the streets.
But the charges don’t stop at narcotics. Law enforcement officials say London was also found with a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic handgun. This is a critical component of the case, as London is a convicted felon – legally barred from possessing any firearm. The indictment specifically alleges the gun was possessed “in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime,” adding significant weight to the potential sentence.
United States Attorney David Metcalf didn’t mince words when announcing the charges. “This individual’s alleged actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the law and a willingness to endanger our communities,” he stated. If convicted on all counts, London faces a maximum possible sentence of life imprisonment and a staggering $5,500,000 fine. A mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years is also on the table, regardless of mitigating factors.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Lancaster County Drug Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski is leading the prosecution, promising a vigorous pursuit of justice. The ATF’s involvement highlights the seriousness of the firearms charge and the federal government’s commitment to tackling gun-related crime.
It’s crucial to remember that these are merely accusations at this stage. Dwain London Jr. is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. However, the evidence presented in the indictment paints a grim picture, suggesting a dangerous individual involved in serious criminal activity.
