Lance Keith Maytubby, Aggravated Sexual Abuse and Abusive Sexual Contact, Oklahoma 2022

A Calera man has been found guilty of three counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse in Indian Country and one count of Abusive Sexual Contact in Indian Country.

Lance Keith Maytubby, Sr., age 54, of Calera, Oklahoma, was found guilty by a federal jury on Friday, October 28, 2022, after a three-day trial.

The jury heard testimony that Maytubby sexually assaulted two victims who were each under 12 years of age at the time of the crimes.

The guilty verdicts were the result of an investigation by the Calera Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma prosecuted the case because Maytubby is a member of a federally recognized Indian tribe and the crimes occurred in Bryan County, within the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation Reservation, and within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Maytubby was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending imposition of sentencing.

The Honorable Scott L. Palk, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, sitting in Oklahoma City, presided over the trial and ordered the completion of a presentence report.

Assistant United States Attorneys Anthony C. Marek and Nicole Paladino represented the United States.
