Larry Christopher Roberts, Gun Possession in Drug Deal, Pennsylvania 2015
A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for using a gun during a drug deal, according to a federal court ruling.
Larry Christopher Roberts, 48, was handed down a 60-month sentence by United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak on his conviction of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song announced today.
According to information presented to the court, on or about June 4, 2015, Roberts possessed a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, specifically the distribution and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
Assistant United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office for conducting the investigation that led to the successful prosecution of Roberts.
This case is being prosecuted under Project Safe Neighborhoods, a collaborative effort by federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and communities to prevent, deter, and prosecute gun crimes.
Roberts will serve 60 months in prison, followed by five years supervised release, according to the court’s ruling.
