Lexington Man Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl Conspiracy

Byron Lee White, a 36-year-old Lexington man, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and heroin. White’s guilty plea was made on August 2, 2018, in connection with a federal indictment.

According to the indictment, White conspired with others to distribute heroin and fentanyl on multiple occasions. The conspirators sold heroin on November 16, 2017, and fentanyl and heroin on December 5 and 22, 2017. They also sold 55 grams of fentanyl on January 17, 2018. White’s involvement in the conspiracy was first discovered when he was indicted by a grand jury in June 2018.

White’s previous conviction for trafficking in cocaine in Fayette Circuit Court in 2005 has been taken into consideration in his current case. White’s sentencing is scheduled for November 8, 2018, before Chief United States District Judge Karen K. Caldwell. He faces a prison sentence of 10 years to life imprisonment.
