A massive methamphetamine dealer in Lexington, Kentucky, has been put away for a decade. Osama Omar Qasem, 29, was busted for peddling over 700 grams of the deadly drug to an undercover informant in a series of four controlled transactions.

The informant, working with law enforcement, had arranged for four controlled buys with Qasem between January and March 2025. During those deals, Qasem handed over 700 grams of methamphetamine and three firearms.

But Qasem thought he had one last score to make. After the fourth transaction, he agreed to meet the informant for a fifth buy. When he showed up, law enforcement were waiting. They found Qasem with a loaded firearm, a large capacity magazine, and a stash of 136 grams of cocaine and 237 grams of methamphetamine.

Qasem now faces 120 months in federal prison, with 85 percent of that sentence mandatory. After his release, he’ll be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for five years.
