A Frankfort man is facing up to 30 years in prison after a federal jury convicted him of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute.
Donald Demil Clay, 50, was found guilty after a two-day trial in U.S. District Court in Frankfort, where jurors heard testimony about a months-long investigation that led to the seizure of 4 ounces of cocaine hidden in a custom poker table.
Law enforcement received multiple tips about Clay’s alleged involvement in cocaine trafficking, and a search warrant was executed at a commercial property he rented in Frankfort.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving Homeland Security Investigations, the DEA, and the Frankfort Police Department.
Clay has a prior conviction for the same offense, which he received in 2014.
