BOSTON – The grimy truth hits close to home as Scott McGinley, a respected middle school librarian in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, faces arrest for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
The 55-year-old Holyoke resident is charged with one count of distribution of child pornography. According to law enforcement, items like children’s underwear and bedding were recovered from a locked case during a residential search.
In a chilling revelation, McGinley, who worked at Williams Middle School and Glenbrook Middle School, is accused of distributing CSAM to a group called ‘Little boyz only’ on an encrypted messaging app. He allegedly expressed a preference for boys aged 2-12, especially those between 4-7.
During a search of McGinley’s residence on Aug. 8, 2025, police found electronic devices and a toolbox containing boys’ underwear and bedding. A forensic examination of his phone revealed over 100 files depicting CSAM.
The charge carries a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, with fines reaching $250,000. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, the DOJ’s initiative to combat child sexual exploitation.
