Daniel Polyansky, Child Porn Distribution, Nebraska 2024

Lincoln, NE – A dark chapter in the battle against child exploitation came to a close as Daniel Polyansky, 34, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was handed a 90-month sentence for distributing child pornography. United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced the sentence imposed by Senior United States District Judge John M. Gerrard on April 22, 2024.

Polyansky’s descent into darkness began in September 2022 when investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol uncovered his IP address sharing graphic videos of child sexual abuse. A meticulous investigation led to a search warrant and Polyansky’s arrest outside his apartment.

During their initial contact, Polyansky was evasive about any involvement with child pornography, but eventually consented to an inspection of his cell phone. However, he denied permission for a forensic download. His denial proved futile as investigators discovered a child pornography video playing on his laptop and subsequently arrested him on state charges.

Upon searching the laptop and cell phone, authorities uncovered a chilling cache of 398 videos and 456 images of child pornography. Polyansky’s sentence includes no parole in the federal system, followed by a seven-year term of supervised release and registration as a sex offender. He was also ordered to pay $39,000 in restitution to the victims.

The case against Polyansky was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The Nebraska State Patrol led the investigation that led to this conviction.
