A loaded 9mm pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition were found on 21-year-old Hakeem Cooper when he was arrested on a state warrant in Brookline, Massachusetts, on March 17, 2026.
Cooper, a Boston resident, is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing ammunition. He was previously convicted of trafficking controlled substances and possession to distribute a class B controlled substance in Suffolk Superior Court.
According to the charging documents, Cooper was found with a Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 9mm pistol, loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, including one round in the chamber, when he was arrested.
The charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
