Esvin Emilio Lopez-Gonzalez, Illegal Reentry, Pennsylvania 2024

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Esvin Emilio Lopez-Gonzalez, a 27-year-old resident of Guatemala, has been slammed with a charge of illegal reentry into the United States. The hard-hitting crime journalist for Grimy Times can exclusively report that Lopez-Gonzalez was sentenced to time served on his conviction, as announced by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

Senior United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti imposed the sentence. According to court documents, Lopez-Gonzalez had been previously removed from the United States on May 7, 2018, after a clandestine entry through Arizona. His illegal presence was once again detected on May 28, 2025, when he failed to produce identification during an encounter with FBI agents.

The court was informed that Lopez-Gonzalez had not obtained permission to return to the United States following his removal. Since his arrest in May, he has been in custody and is now set to be returned to immigration custody for removal from the country.

Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti extended commendations to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their roles in the successful prosecution of Lopez-Gonzalez.

This case is a part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at eliminating cartels, combatting illegal immigration, and safeguarding communities from violent crime. The grim tale of Lopez-Gonzalez underscores the relentless efforts to keep our borders secure.
