Loxahatchee Man Sentenced to 235 Months in Prison for Enticing Minor to Engage in Sex

A 52-year-old registered sex offender from Loxahatchee, Florida, has been sentenced to 235 months in prison for attempting to entice a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity.

Paul David Culbreth, who was previously convicted of a sex offense, was arrested in December 2013 after he attempted to meet a 15-year-old boy for sex. The boy was actually an undercover officer posing as a minor.

Culbreth sent numerous explicit messages to the minor via a social media application and attempted to meet him on New Year’s Eve. He was arrested by Special Agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) after he drove to the location where he believed he would pick up the minor.

Culbreth was found in possession of lubricant and condoms in his vehicle. He is a registered sex offender in Palm Beach County.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam McMichael and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and Assistant State Attorney Gregory Schiller. The investigative and cooperative efforts of ICE-HSI, the Boynton Beach Police Department, and the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force were also commended.

Culbreth’s sentence includes a life term of supervised release and a requirement to continue registering as a sex offender. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Kenneth L. Ryskamp.
