Federal Judge Hands Down 10-Year Sentence to Sebring Man for Methamphetamine Trafficking.
Luther Trovian Jones, 52, a resident of Sebring, Florida, has been sentenced to 121 months in prison for distribution of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to a recent South Florida federal court decision.
The investigation into Jones’s crimes, a joint effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, uncovered a large-scale methamphetamine distribution scheme. On multiple occasions, Jones was found in possession of, or sold, distribution quantities of methamphetamine.
The evidence collected during the investigation revealed that Jones was responsible for 265.79 grams of methamphetamine with a purity level of 80% or higher, as well as 29.8 grams of fentanyl.
The case against Jones was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Hudock. The investigation was led by the DEA Miami Field Division and Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.
