Man Admits Selling Guns Without License
CAMDEN, N.J. – Corey Moore, a 32-year-old man from Salem, New Jersey, has admitted to selling guns without a license and possessing firearms after having been convicted of a felony offense.
According to court documents, Moore sold firearms from July 20, 2016, to December 20, 2016. On October 24, 2016, he sold two loaded firearms to a man who was a confidential informant working with federal law enforcement officers. Moore did not have a license to sell firearms and was caught at a convenience store in Logan Township, New Jersey.
The firearms sold to the informant included an Intratec, Model AB10, 9 millimeter Luger pistol, and a Smith & Wesson, Model 642 (marked LadySmith), .38 caliber revolver. Moore was also found to be in possession of two additional loaded firearms: an Iberia Firearms Inc. (Hi-Point), Model JCP, .40 caliber pistol, and a Ruger, Model Security-Six, .357 magnum caliber revolver.
Moore faces a maximum potential term of imprisonment of up to five years in prison for dealing in firearms without a license and up to 10 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a weapon. He also faces a fine of up to $250,000.
U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito credited the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Newark Field Division, under the direction of John B. Devito, with the investigation. The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Diana Vondra Carrig of the Criminal Division in Camden.
Moore’s sentencing is scheduled for January 4, 2019. Defense counsel Anne C. Singer Esq. from Haddonfield, New Jersey, will be representing Moore.
