Houma Man Indicted for Cocaine Crime

A Houma man has been charged with two counts of distributing crack cocaine, announced U. S. Attorney Dana J. Boente.

Donald Richardson, 35, allegedly knowingly and intentionally distributed a quantity of crack cocaine on or about March 17, 2011 and March 23, 2011, according to court records.

Each count of the indictment carries a maximum term of imprisonment of twenty years, a fine of $1,000,000, and a minimum of three years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.

U. S. Attorney Boente reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The investigation is being conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Terrebonne Parish Narcotics Task Force.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney André Jones.

Richardson’s indictment is a result of a joint investigation between the DEA and the Terrebonne Parish Narcotics Task Force.
