Ronald A. Howard, a 59-year-old man from South Dayton, NY, pleaded guilty to enticement of a minor after engaging in sexual conversations and activities with a 14-year-old girl. Between March 16 and April 10, 2024, Howard communicated with the victim via text messaging and Snapchat, discussing sexual activity and meeting up. Howard knew the victim was 14 years old and asked her to send him a naked picture, which she did. The two met on two occasions and engaged in sexual activity.
An investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the New York State Police led to the execution of a search warrant at Howard’s residence on June 16, 2024. During the search, Howard admitted to communicating with and having sex with the victim. Further analysis of his cellular telephone revealed sexual communications with an 11-year-old female and her 14-year-old sister, as well as a 13-year-old female from Arkansas.
Howard’s guilty plea is the result of an investigation led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango. He faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life. Sentencing is scheduled for November 6, 2026, before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.
