Mansfield Woman Accused of Stealing $34,204 in Social Security Funds
A 62-year-old Mansfield woman has been accused of stealing a significant amount of money from her Social Security benefits, according to a federal indictment.
Helen Love, a resident of Mansfield, Ohio, is charged with theft of public money after allegedly taking approximately $34,204 from her Social Security funds between 2009 and 2013.
The alleged theft was uncovered by the United States Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General, which conducted a thorough investigation into the matter.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Justin Seabury Gould, who will present the government’s case against Love.
If convicted, Love’s sentence will be determined by the court after reviewing various factors, including her prior criminal record, her role in the offense, and the characteristics of the violation. In all cases, the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum, and in most cases, it will be less than the maximum.
