Orange, CT – In a relentless battle against drug trafficking, Christian Andres Tejada Segura, 26, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, has been handed a severe blow as he faces federal prison for his role in the fentanyl trade. David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced yesterday that Tejada Segura was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver to 36 months behind bars, followed by 18 months of supervised release, and a $20,000 fine.
Tejada Segura’s downfall began with an undercover DEA operation where they arranged a fentanyl purchase. On May 24, 2023, law enforcement struck as Tejada Segura was arrested in Orange, Connecticut, after traveling from West Hazelton, Pennsylvania. The DEA seizure revealed approximately 473 grams of the deadly drug.
On April 4, 2025, Tejada Segura pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. With his release on a $50,000 bond, he is now required to surrender to prison on September 11th.
The Drug Enforcement Administration New Haven Task Force, along with local police departments including West Haven and New Haven, played pivotal roles in this investigation. The Task Force includes members from the DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, IRS Criminal Investigation Division, Connecticut State Police, and multiple local law enforcement agencies.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan J. Keefe is handling the prosecution of this case, ensuring that justice is served for those affected by Tejada Segura’s drug trafficking activities.
