Local Man Lands 10-Year Prison Sentence for Cocaine Conspiracy

A Fort Wayne man has been sentenced to 120 months imprisonment for his involvement in a cocaine distribution conspiracy, announced U.S. Attorney Thomas L. Kirsch II. 31-year-old Marco A. Garcia, a Fort Wayne resident, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

According to court documents, Garcia was part of a conspiracy to distribute cocaine from January 2015 to July 2016. The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Safe Streets and Gang Task Force, uncovered evidence of Garcia’s involvement in the cocaine distribution ring.

The task force, consisting of the FBI, the Indiana State Police, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and the Fort Wayne Police Department, worked alongside the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Allen County Drug Task Force to bring Garcia to justice.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Anthony W. Geller and Stacey Speith prosecuted the case, securing a guilty plea from Garcia. Chief Judge Theresa L. Springmann presided over the sentencing hearing.

Garcia will serve 120 months in prison followed by 5 years of supervised release. The sentencing marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation into the cocaine distribution conspiracy.
