Marco Gomez-Arguello, 36, Sentenced for Illegal Re-Entry of a Removed Alien
New Orleans, LA – Marco Gomez-Arguello, age 36, was sentenced on August 7, 2025 by United States District Judge Barry W. Ashe, after previously pleading guilty to illegal reentry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a) and Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(b)(1).
Gomez-Arguello reentered the United States after being previously deported on October 28, 2013.
According to the indictment, Gomez-Arguello was sentenced to time served, and Judge Ashe also sentenced him to one year of supervised release and payment of a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson praised the work of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) New Orleans Field Office in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Mary Katherine Kaufman of the General Crimes Unit was in charge of the prosecution.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
Gomez-Arguello was arrested and investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) New Orleans Field Office, with the assistance of the General Crimes Unit.
