Guilty Plea in Unlawful Re-Entry Case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Marcos Martinez-Jimenez, a 42-year-old Mexican national, has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally re-entering the United States after having been previously removed following his 2007 conviction for Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child Under 14.

Martinez-Jimenez was previously convicted of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child Under 14 in Johnson County, Ks. in 2007. He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 61 months and he was deported to Mexico in 2011 upon completion of his sentence.

On Feb. 11, 2025, he was arrested in Kansas City, Mo., by Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Enforcement & Removal Operations following a vehicle stop.

Martinez-Jimenez faces up to twenty years in federal prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. U.S. District Judge Greg Kays will impose sentencing on a date to be determined.

He has been and will remain in custody pending his sentencing hearing.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brent Venneman. It was investigated by Immigration & Customs Enforcement, Enforcement & Removal Operations.
