Mason Jordan Sentenced to 23 Years for Child Sex Crimes

HONOLULU, Hawaii – In a shocking case of betrayal, former Honolulu Police Officer Mason Jordan was sentenced to 23 years in federal prison for engaging in child sex crimes while serving as a sworn officer.

According to court documents, Jordan, 34, of Kailua, Hawaii, pleaded guilty to the charges in April 2024. He was found to have secretly photographed and recorded a child in his household to create sexually explicit material.

As part of his guilty plea, Jordan admitted to using the material to harass the child and coerce her into producing and sending him additional sexually explicit content. He also posed as a stranger to lure other local children into working as prostitutes, several of whom he eventually met in person for illicit encounters.

Senior U.S. District Judge Leslie Kobayashi described Jordan’s conduct as ‘beyond intentional’ and involving extensive ‘planning and deceit.’ She highlighted the technical sophistication of his attempts to conceal his identity and the profound betrayal of his duties as an officer and parental guardian.

‘This case represents the ultimate betrayal of public trust: a sworn police officer who exploited his badge to prey on the most vulnerable members of our community,’ said Acting U.S. Attorney Ken Sorenson. ‘I hope the sentence gives some solace to his victims and allows them to begin healing.’

The case was the result of a joint investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with the assistance of the Honolulu Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne A. Myers prosecuted the case.

Jordan must also register as a sex offender and serve a lifetime term of supervised release. His sentence is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of child sex crimes and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.
