ALBUQUERQUE – In a stark revelation, Mescalero Apache Tribe member John Albert Carrillo Jr., 36, has pleaded guilty to federal charges of sexual abuse of a minor. The grim details of the case emerged as Carrillo faced the music for his alleged actions on February 15, 2025. Court records indicate that Carrillo used force to commit a heinous sexual act against a minor victim. This conviction marks a severe blow to the community’s sense of safety.
