Jonathan Shahaad Ruff, aka ‘Slaughter,’ and Darnell Lamar Pickens, two Glynn County men, have been indicted for distributing methamphetamine and firearms offenses in Southern Georgia. The alleged crimes took place between June 2025 and January 2026, with Ruff and Pickens accused of distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in August 2025. Pickens is also alleged to have possessed 5 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in January 2026, as well as being found in possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon.
The indictment, returned by the July term of the federal Grand Jury in the Southern District of Georgia, charges Ruff with five counts of Distribution of 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine. Pickens faces charges of Distribution of 50 grams or more of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Glynn County Sheriff’s Office, and Brunswick Police Department. If convicted, both defendants face significant prison time, with Ruff and Pickens facing 10 years to life in prison for Distribution of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine. Pickens also faces a minimum sentence of five years and up to 40 years imprisonment for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
