Meth Kingpin Brought to Justice
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – A notorious methamphetamine distributor has been convicted and is facing up to thirty years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000,000. Robert Lewis Jones, a 54-year-old man from Waynesboro, Virginia, pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Jones admitted to conspiring with others to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine in the Northern District of West Virginia and elsewhere. The crime spree lasted from May 2013 until October 2016. The devastating impact of Jones’s actions has left a trail of destruction in its wake, with countless lives affected by the scourge of methamphetamine.
The case was investigated by the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, who worked tirelessly to bring Jones to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the proceedings.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant. This emphasizes the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions, and ensuring that those who break the law face the consequences.
As a community, we must work together to combat the scourge of methamphetamine and other illicit substances. By supporting law enforcement and holding those responsible accountable, we can create a safer and healthier environment for all.
Jones’s conviction serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the importance of taking a stand against this devastating substance. We must continue to demand justice and accountability for those who seek to harm our communities.
With this conviction, we take a significant step towards a brighter future, free from the grip of methamphetamine. We will continue to shine a light on the issue and push for change, ensuring that those who break the law face the full force of justice.
