Perry Willis, 37, of Natchitoches, Louisiana, was a key player in an eleven-member meth trafficking ring that operated across Louisiana and Texas. The ring’s activities came to a head in 2023 when the DEA launched an investigation, using wire taps and surveillance to identify Willis and his co-conspirators. The investigation escalated in August 2024 when a traffic stop turned into a vehicle chase, ending in a crash that yielded nine kilograms of methamphetamine and twenty-four pounds of synthetic marijuana.
The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of 221.5 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine, disguised as bottled water, and the discovery of a meth conversion lab in Houston. These findings linked Willis and ten other co-conspirators to the same supply network. The other defendants include Daniel Efferson, Jaquez Flakes, Christopher Caffey, Jeffrey Flakes, Joshua Hardy, Delannie Lee, Crystal Williams, Kellie Yates, Amadeo Penaloza-Meza, and Brayan Sandoval.
On June 26, 2026, Willis was sentenced to 292 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. This significant sentence reflects the serious threat the organization posed to the community and the importance of dismantling high-volume illicit drug suppliers.
The DEA and Louisiana State Police were instrumental in taking down the meth trafficking ring. United States Attorney Zachary A. Keller stated that the office remains committed to protecting communities and bringing dangerous criminals to justice.
