Terry Lynn Clay, Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Texas 2024

⏱ 2 min read

Terry Lynn Clay, a 57-year-old man from Baytown, Texas, has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking operation in San Antonio. On June 9, 2021, Clay conspired to traffic 992.4 grams of pure methamphetamine and 526 grams of cocaine, purchasing the drugs from Timothy Bland in Houston before handing them off to his associate, Tonya Vonci Middleton-Harris, for further distribution.

Clay’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Homeland Security Task Force, which led to the downfall of a major drug trafficking ring in the area. The task force, established by President Trump in 2020, aims to combat transnational criminal organizations and protect communities from violent crime.

Clay pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine on October 29, 2024, and was sentenced to 108 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Jason K. Pulliam. His associates, Middleton-Harris and Bland, received sentences of 24 months and 235 months, respectively.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Spears as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat illegal immigration, cartels, and transnational criminal organizations. With Clay’s sentencing, all 10 defendants in the case have now been brought to justice.
