Felanda Ashton, a 53-year-old Shreveport resident, was busted for selling large quantities of methamphetamine from his vehicle. On April 27, 2026, he faced the music, sentenced to 211 months in prison for possessing meth with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm to further his drug operation. Ashton’s troubles began when the DEA received a tip about his meth sales, leading to a traffic stop where Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office found 187.1 grams of pure meth in his vehicle.
Ashton’s attempt to evade law enforcement only led to more trouble. When officers tried to arrest him, he fled the scene, ditching a fanny pack containing 84.7 grams of meth, suspected Klonopin pills, and 10 blue pills with fentanyl. A loaded Glock pistol was also found in his vehicle. The DEA, with help from the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, investigated the case.
Ashton’s sentence includes five years of supervised release after his prison term. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Aaron Crawford, with assistance from Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan. U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Keller announced the sentencing.
