New Orleans, LA – A 20-year-old city resident has been caught peddling pot and packing a machinegun. Brandon Dunn pleaded guilty on April 1, 2026, to conspiracy to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.
According to authorities, Dunn sold marijuana and a prescription opioid called tapentadol since at least 2023. He was caught on May 9, 2024, when New Orleans Police Department officers surveilling his residence spotted him arriving in a stolen Infinity Q60.
Dunn fled on foot, leaving behind a Glock Model 19, modified to shoot like a machinegun. He was apprehended after a short chase. A search of his stolen car turned up a distributable quantity of marijuana and $1,000 cash. Dunn’s bedroom yielded a money counter, over $15,000 in cash, and a Romarm/Cugir Model Micro Draco pistol.
Under the terms of his plea agreement, Dunn will serve 11.5 years in prison. The court has deferred its decision on whether to accept the negotiated plea until sentencing.
