Isaac James Ocejo, a 22-year-old Fresno man, was at the center of a large-scale methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution ring that operated in Fresno, California, between July 2023 and October 2024. Ocejo and his co-conspirators used the U.S. Mail to ship massive quantities of meth and fentanyl to other states, totaling over 10 kilograms of methamphetamine and more than a kilogram of fentanyl. The ring also sold significant quantities of methamphetamine locally, including a 10-pound sale in August 2024 and another 10-pound sale at Trolley Creek Park in September 2024.
The investigation, led by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, uncovered the scope of Ocejo’s operation, which led to his guilty plea on January 26, 2026. Ocejo’s co-defendant, Isaac Estrada, had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and distributing methamphetamine in August 2025 and was sentenced to 46 months in prison.
Ocejo’s sentencing to 15 years and 10 months in prison marks a significant blow to the methamphetamine and fentanyl trade in Fresno. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Cody S. Chapple, who secured the convictions and sentences for both Ocejo and Estrada.
The use of the U.S. Mail to distribute illicit substances highlights the creative and often brazen methods employed by drug traffickers. The sentencing of Ocejo and Estrada serves as a warning to those involved in the drug trade that law enforcement is committed to dismantling these operations and bringing perpetrators to justice.
