Rolando Nava PACHECO, Assault on a Federal Officer and Destruction of Government Property, California 2025

San Diego – A Mexican National, Rolando Nava PACHECO, 19 years old, has been charged in federal court with assaulting a federal officer and destroying government property. The charges stem from an incident on August 11, 2025, when agents from the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) attempted to arrest a suspected immigration violator.

During the operation, federal agents conducted a traffic stop on a white truck. As they approached the driver, identified as Nava Pacheco, he accelerated and struck a federal agent and a federal government vehicle. His attempt to flee ended with his apprehension shortly after.

“Our office is committed to protecting our federal law enforcement partners,” stated U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon. “Those who attempt to injure or evade law enforcement will face federal charges.”

ERO San Diego Field Office Director Patrick Divver emphasized the dedication of officers, noting, “Despite the challenges encountered, our officers remain dedicated to carrying out their duties with professionalism.”

Nava PACHECO faces significant penalties, including up to 20 years in prison for assault on a federal officer resulting in bodily injury and destruction of government property. The maximum fines for these charges total $250,000 each.

The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations. It’s important to note that the charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is considered innocent unless proven guilty.”
