RALEIGH, N.C. – Three Mexican nationals have been handed down prison sentences for their illegal return to the United States after being deported. Each had a previous criminal record that included serious offenses.
Ezequiel Andres-Antonio, 42, received a 12-month sentence for reentering the U.S. without permission. Andres-Antonio’s prior conviction was for possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, an aggravated felony.
Edward Nunez, 45, faces 19 months in prison after being removed three times and is now convicted of multiple felonies including conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, illegal reentry, and recent convictions for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.
Martin Reyes-Hernandez, 37, has been sentenced to 13 months for returning to the U.S. after being removed five times following larceny-related offenses and a recent conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.
Daniel P. Bubar, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, announced the sentences following sentencing by U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan. The cases were investigated by ICE and prosecuted by the National Security Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
