Michael G. Williams, Receipt of Material Depicting the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Pennsylvania 2015

A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to prison time for his role in a child pornography case.

Michael G. Williams, 48, of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 96 months in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, on a charge of Receipt of Material Depicting the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, announced United States Attorney David J. Hickton.

The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Gustave Diamond in federal court in Pittsburgh.

According to information presented to the court, Williams knowingly received visual depictions, namely, videos and images in computer graphics and digital files, the production of which involved the use of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, from June 18, 2015, and continuing thereafter to June 25, 2015.

Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Office of the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for conducting the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Williams.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Williams’ crimes were committed in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
