Michael Robinson-Brown, Drug Trafficking, West Virginia 2024

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A 27-year-old Detroit man has been sentenced to 150 months in federal prison for leading a drug trafficking operation in Monongalia County.

Michael Robinson-Brown, of Detroit, Michigan, was handed down the sentence by Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh after being found guilty of his leadership role in the operation.

According to court documents, law enforcement received several complaints about suspected drug activity at an apartment complex in Morgantown. Investigators determined that Robinson-Brown was transporting large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl from Detroit to Monongalia County, using local residents to distribute the narcotics.

Robinson-Brown has a prior criminal history that includes convictions for cocaine and heroin distribution, as well as the unlawful possession of a firearm.

As part of his sentence, Robinson-Brown will serve three years of supervised release following his prison term. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

The Mon Metro Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, led the investigation into Robinson-Brown’s activities.
