A California woman has pleaded guilty to her role in a Pittsburgh-based cocaine trafficking ring.
Misha Cannon, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine in federal court.
According to court documents, Cannon was intercepted over the wire conspiring with others, including her brother Lionel Cannon, to possess with intent to distribute and distribute cocaine that was shipped from California to Western District of Pennsylvania through the United States Postal Service or commercial carrier.
The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other agencies, began in December 2013 and continued through August 2014.
In August 2014, Cannon also helped her brother obtain a new supply of cocaine and conducted a deal for the purchase of one kilogram of cocaine, which was later seized by law enforcement.
Judge Mark R. Hornak scheduled sentencing for October 15, 2015. The law provides for a minimum sentence of five years in prison, a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, a fine of not more than $5,000,000, or both.
Pending sentencing, the court continued the defendant’s detention.
Assistant United States Attorney Tonya Sulia Goodman is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
